Art League general meetings will resume in September.
New Board of Directors will be working on summer camps for the youth, the art center improvement, and painting a barrel together for a fund raiser.

The Art League Appreciates the Support We Receive for All Our Programs and Scholarships
The Art League offers art classes for persons with intellectual disabilities on Tuesday evenings from 5:00 to 7:30. The class breaks briefly for a snack/meal and then continues until their project is finished.
The Art League of Baytown has been a mainstay of this Community since 1954. And now that we have a home in the Art Center of Baytown, thanks mainly to the generous support of the City of Baytown, we are learning how much our neighbors are interested in experiencing art. This is not limited to just one age group or gender. Regardless of your skill level, budding artists in all age groups experience the joy of art - adults, children, special needs, physically handicapped, etc.
We offer scholarships to graduating high school students and also for our mentally challenged students who come on Tuesday nights for art class. We appreciate any donation for our current programs and future activities as we meet the demand of the public. As a 501.c.3 organization, your donation is completely tax deductible.
Leah Ramirez, left, from Robert E. Lee High School and Jordy Cruz, right, from Ross S. Sterling High School were recipients of this year's Pat Wheeler and Eleanor Lubrick memorial scholarships valued at $400 each. Leah who is under the direction of Darcy McDonald will attend Virginia Commonwealth University. Jordy, under the tutelage of Annie Watson, will attend the University of North Texas. The Art League is very pleased to honor these two very talented art students. We wish them all success.

May 19, 2013 - Monthly Art Demonstration is by Gwen Cortes
From a blank canvas with only some pencil sketch marks to the end of the demonstration, took Gwen less than an hour to complete the painting. What a whiz! Absolutely remarkable, Gwen.
