Registration and payment is an important part of of any workshop. The Art Center offers a variety of workshops throughout the year. Workshops are advertised on this website, facebook, and through Constant Contact and newsletters from our president. Some workshops are advertised and an interest list is created but not given a date until enough participants have signed up. Some advertise all information but sometimes are cancelled due to lack of participants.In an effort to make this process more user friendly, procedures are listed below:

Dramatic Color Pencil Portraits with Jesse Lane!

We are excited & honored to have internationally known Jesse Lane in Baytown for
an intensive 2-day color pencil potrait workshop! Please join us and learn from a master who is taking the art of color pencil to new heights!

TIME: 9 am-4 pm
CLASS: min. 15, max. 30 people
COST: $300 Art League members/CPSA members, $330 non-members, $275 students
$150 deposit due at sign-up, balance due by Feb.13, 2019. Cancellations made before
Feb. 13 will be refunded and all fees returned if we can fill your spot from the waiting list after Feb.13.
PAYMENT: Payment can be made by mailing a check along with the registration form or by credit card at the Art League. Sorry, we cannot accept credit payments online.
SUPPLIES: A supply list will be emailed to registered participants.
LODGING: A block of 10 rooms have been reserved at Spring Hill Suites at a rate of $89 per night for Feb. 22-24. Free breaksfast & free gated parking is available. The Art League is about 15 min. away.

Stan Irvin is a noted Texas potter and sculptor and a nationally renowned clay artist. He has over 30 years experience as a university level art educator and artist. Stan is Professor Emeritus of Art at St. Edward's University, School of Humanities, Austin, Texas. He has won numerous awards statewide, regionally, and nationally. His artwork has been in numerous group and solo shows. He maintains studios in both the Austin and Rockport Texas area.
January 26th and 27th (Saturday and Sunday) at the Lee College ceramics department, 700 block of W. Texas Avenue in Baytown. Cost: $120 includes all materials and tools plus lunch on both days. Limited to 20 participants.
Stan will do numerous but brief demos as guidance for students in building their teapots. We can also discuss approaches to glazing though there will not be time to glaze and fire in a weekend workshop. Students may bring bisque ware or finished work for purposes of critique.
